There are a number of legal challenges that creative professionals can encounter in the course of their self-employment. However, those who inform themselves in good time and build a legally secure foundation for their own self-employment prevent legal problems from arising later. In co-operation with the Cyber Law Clinic of the University of Hamburg, we offer those seeking advice initial guidance on questions of internet law and commercial legal protection.
Please note: Student legal advice is not intended to replace legal advice from a lawyer.
30 minutes of free student legal advice.
Students, freelancers, solo self-employed, small entrepreneurs and project drivers from all sectors of Hamburg's creative industries.
Counselling takes place in person at the University of Hamburg or on the premises of Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft.
The Cyber Law Clinic advises creative professionals on issues ranging from the opening of an online shop to the legally compliant design of a social media presence. It offers advice on disputes about domain names and account grabbing, problems with rating portals, questions about gaming or questions about the legally secure use of logos and works. Creative professionals can turn to the Cyber Law Clinic with the following questions, for example:
Registration is binding. Once you have registered, a 30-minute time slot will be reserved for you between 4 and 6.30 p.m. on the date you have booked, during which around four students will deal intensively with your request. It is therefore important that you actually attend your booked appointment.
Cancellations at short notice cannot always be avoided, but this means that other people who would have liked to register for one of the few counselling slots are denied the opportunity to benefit from this offer.
After registering, you will be asked to describe your concerns as specifically as possible by email so that the students can prepare for the counselling session. Your request will be treated confidentially.
The Cyber Law Clinic is a project of the Faculty of Law at the University of Hamburg and has established itself in recent years as a contact point for pro bono legal advice in the areas of internet law and intellectual property law. The students advise those seeking advice under the guidance of lawyers. The aim is to enable students to apply their acquired knowledge in practice during their studies and thus support people who cannot afford legal assistance.
