Whether you are an established creative professional or a start-up entrepreneur, there are a variety of legal challenges that creative professionals can face in the course of their self-employment. However, those who inform themselves in good time and build a legally secure foundation for their own self-employment prevent legal problems from arising later.

In cooperation with the Cyber Law Clinic at the University of Hamburg, we offer those seeking advice initial guidance on questions of internet law and commercial legal protection.

Watch out: Student legal advice is not intended to replace legal advice from a lawyer.

Subject areas

The Cyber Law Clinic advises creative professionals on issues ranging from opening an online shop to the legally compliant design of a social media presence, disputes about domain names and account grabbing, problems with rating portals, questions about gaming or questions about the legally compliant use of logos and works.

About the Cyber Law Clinic

The Cyber Law Clinic is a project of the Faculty of Law at the University of Hamburg and has established itself in recent years as a contact point for pro bono legal advice in the areas of internet law and intellectual property law. The students advise those seeking advice under the guidance of lawyers. The aim is to enable students to apply the knowledge they have learnt in practice during their studies and thus support people who cannot afford legal assistance.

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Is this a group event or a personal counselling session?

It is a personal counselling session in which personal issues are addressed. The counselling session usually lasts 30 minutes.

How does the registration process work? Is registration binding?

Registration is binding. After you have registered, a 30-minute time slot will be reserved especially for you on the booked date between 5 and 7.30 pm, during which the students will deal intensively with your concerns. It is therefore important that you actually attend your booked appointment. You will receive the exact location where the counselling session will take place and the specific time slot a few days before the appointment.

Cancellations at short notice cannot always be avoided, but this means that other people who would have liked to register for one of the few consultation slots are denied the opportunity to benefit from this offer.
