Design, Walk & Talk: Westfield Überseequartier

A creative look behind the scenes at Westfield

New life was breathed into HafenCity in spring: The Westfield Hamburg Überseequartier has opened. The idea and initial plans for the 419,000 m² project are now more than twenty years old. The shopping and residential quarter in the south of the neighbourhood is thus putting old questions of urban planning and design back on the agenda. By whom and how is the public space designed and for what purpose? What potential and what problems does the design of the new neighbourhood entail?

At Design, Walk & Talk , we will open up different design perspectives on the project. We start with a guided tour by Dirk Hünerbein, the project manager of Westfield Hamburg Überseequartier. Afterwards, he and three other experts from various disciplines will discuss questions about the design of the new quarter and the public space at the Design Centre.

Please note: You can choose between the ticket types "Tour & Talk" and "Talk". If you only want to come to the talk part of the evening, please come to the Design Centre at 7 pm.
