Music WorX Accelerator
A project of the Ministry for Culture and Media and the Hamburg Kreativ Gesellschaft
The time has finally come: The selected teams meet each other and see their new workplaces in the coworking space. Programme alumni from previous years share their experiences with the newcomers. We go through the programme for the next few months together where participants will also have the opportunity to make their own suggestions and requests.
Whether labels, publishers, media houses, international conferences and festivals or the dynamic start-up scene, from networking opportunities through pitching business ideas at the Reeperbahn Festival to individual meetings with important players in the Hamburg music industry: we provide participants with direct contacts to contacts in the industry and thus facilitate their entry into the Hamburg music industry.
Qualification and coaching
A qualification programme in the form of weekly workshops and individual consultation is a key component of the Accelerator programme. Whether it entails training in storytelling, improving pitch skills, providing legal advice on developing business ideas or optimising PR and marketing strategies, for example, concrete needs are identified in advance with the participants and the coaching programme is then adapted to these requirements as precisely as possible.
Reeperbahn Festival Conference
Participants will receive free accreditation for the Reeperbahn Festival Conference and the Reeperbahn Festival (19–22 September 2018). Apart from three days full of networking opportunities, they will also have the opportunity to present their business model to numerous players from the music industry and potential investors during the ‘Corporate Sessions’ conference.
Music WorX Pitch
The Music WorX Pitch is the closing event to the Accelerator programme and will take place at the end of November 2018. It allows participants to compete against each other as well as against two externally invited teams and present their business ideas to a panel of experts, consisting of various representatives from the music industry and a large audience. The jury prize is €5,000; the audience prize includes an exclusive feature of the winning team in a well-known German music magazine.
And then what comes next?
We will still available for the participants, networking where we can and are happy to advise them even after the three-month Accelerator programme has ended. Participants also have numerous other funding instruments at their disposal in Hamburg. Almost all participants in the Music WorX Accelerator programme, for example, subsequently received financial assistance of up to €150,000 from IFB Hamburg’s InnoRampUp funding programme.
