The Hamburgische Kulturstiftung supports art and cultural projects in all fields, from the visual arts, performing arts, music, film and literature to children's and youth cultural projects and cultural education projects. The focus is on promoting up-and-coming artists, especially Hamburg's young art and culture scene. However, artists from abroad who are realising a project in Hamburg can also apply for funding. For example, performances, (music) theatre performances, exhibitions, concert series or festivals are supported.
The decisive criteria are quality and professionalism. An endeavour to find further funding partners is desired. The projects must be realised and presented in Hamburg. Scholarships, funding for publications, scientific symposia and the funding of non-project-related running costs are not possible. Amateur or amateur artists and purely commercial projects are not supported by the Hamburgische Kulturstiftung.
Emerging artists and those involved in children's and youth culture can apply for funding for their projects three times a year using an online form. There must be at least four months between the respective application deadline and the first day of your project (not the start of rehearsals, but the premiere, exhibition opening, etc.).
