Otto Group: Radical change of perspective wanted

In order to prepare itself for the challenges of the future, the Otto Group also relies on fresh external perspectives. These were offered in the pop-up office.

Challenge

Open Innovation, Co-Creation and Collaboration – Companies of all industries face major challenges in the course of digital change. Three years ago, the Otto Group, a globally active trade and services group headquartered in Hamburg, Germany, launched "Kulturwandel 4.0" (Cultural Change 4.0) and introduced new working methods, more collaboration and networking in order to advance the possibilities of digitization in a value-adding way.

Output

"The Pop-up Office is a unique opportunity for truly interdisciplinary work with incredibly candid people who can (and want to) get excited. I have taken numerous impulses, especially for radical changes of perspective and for a quick and pragmatic implementation of topics, back into my daily work. In short: a great experiment and a great team experience."

Ilka Hindrichs, Project Manager Corporate Strategy & Development at the Otto Group

Format & Method

  • In the Pop-up Office, creative workers and professionals from other industries, solo self-employed and employees from start-ups, medium-sized companies and large corporations change perspectives together.
  • The interdisciplinary teams go through an intensive work process. Through cross-sectoral work and impulse lectures, the participants gain new insights into cultural change, agile management approaches, digitalisation and contemporary office and workplace design day after day.
  • Experienced coaches guide the teams through a "culture sprint" – from the definition of relevant topics across industries to the development of concrete questions and the development of potential solutions. The teams develop and visualize their ideas as prototypes.
